welcome to the "Das Apart Rauch" in Obergurgl

The "Apart Rauch", awarded 4 Edelweiss, is located in the beautiful and snow-sure town of Obergurgl at 1905 meters just a few steps
from the center and the ski area.

The small and cozy town, also called the "Diamond of the Alps", has fewer than 400 inhabitants and is located at the very end of the Tyrolean Ötztal surrounded by 21 three-thousanders.
The fact that the town is at an altitude of 1900 m above sea level is one of the factors why Obergurgl is one of the snowiest towns and ski areas in Europe.

What sets this winter sports resort apart is that there are no waiting times at the ski lifts.
This is possible because Obergurgl hardly has any day tourists and the lifts, with a capacity of 33,000 people per hour, transport a maximum of 6,000 skiers per day without delay to the over 120 km of groomed slopes. Furthermore, in the immediate vicinity is the
Sölden ski area with its 2 glaciers and over 150 kilometers of groomed slopes, which can also be accessed with the Gurgl lift ticket (from 3 days).

The place is quite clear and there are both lift and bus connections to the sister town "Hochgurgl", you can safely leave your car parked and covered in snow from the beginning to the end of your holiday.
Some parts of Obergurgl can only be accessed by car when arriving and departing.
The low-traffic and idyllic place is extremely family and child-friendly.
Gurgl is one of the few winter sports resorts where children up to 8 years of age are free, i.e. get a ski pass for free and young people up to 16 years of age receive a "children's discount".

In Obergurgl you will not only find a ski children's club and 5 ski schools, there are mainly easy and medium-difficulty ski slopes in the Gurgl ski area.
But Gurgl also has a lot to offer for professional athletes!! You should then go to the “Wurmkogel” (3082 meters altitude) or to the “Hohe Mut”. It is easy to guess how the name of the second peak came about. The place also invites you to various ski hiking tours, for example in the Königstal.
If your fitness permits, you can ski down from the "Wurmkogel" to Gurgl and overcome over 1,300 meters of altitude in one go on the 6 km long descent.

In total, the Gurgl ski area has 120 kilometers of ski slopes, 95 kilometers of which are equipped with snowmaking systems. The snowmaking systems ensure that you always have enough snow under your skis, even in busy areas, and that the season is guaranteed from mid-November to the beginning of May.

The “Ötztal Superskipass*” has been available since 2019, giving winter sports enthusiasts the opportunity to experience the concentrated power of the Ötztal in one ski pass. 361 kilometers of slopes, 90 lifts and 6 ski areas - with the Ötztal Superskipass you have free travel on all the slopes in the valley. Included are the well-known ski destinations of Sölden and Obergurgl-Hochgurgl as well as the family-friendly regions in Hochoetz-Kühtai, Niederthai, Gries and Vent.
There are three fun parks in the Gurgl ski area, where snowboarders and jumping enthusiasts will also get their money's worth.
For those who are not interested in prepared terrain, there are various ski tours (including guided ones) that you can undertake. However, since this requires very good alpine knowledge, you should not attempt this without a local ski and mountain guide

In the summer, Obergurgl is an insider tip for culturally interested hikers, mountaineers, two-wheel enthusiasts (whether motorcycles, mountain bikes or racing bikes) and those seeking relaxation. In the middle of glaciated mountain ridges and countless three-thousand-meter peaks, you can enjoy the pleasant fresh air, as well as the peace and pure natur
